Crossing to Finland - Turku

We really enjoyed Sweden, now moving to Finland. We took the boat from Stockholm to Turku and then the bus from Turku to Helsinki. We had a cabin on the boat that was very comfortable. Good night sleep. Turku appeared a little dormant without the students. We visited the castle and the museum of Modern Art (Art Nueva) joined with viewing of the excavation of a few medieval streets (Art Vetus).
Here we witnessed a rather interesting effect which you may have noticed as well where ever you live. While we were walking around, admiring interesting monuments, sculptures and absorbing the street life, some locals in the street had a different goal. They were looking for something quite different and special......virtual Pokemons! The PokemonGo effect. Quite amazing; young kids, teenagers and young adults, all with their phone in hand, walking, sometimes bicycling, to find......virtual Pokemons. You can tell right away when you are in a Pokemon "hot spot" (picture below). The Pokemon seekers are all assembled here. My first reaction to the phenomenon was saying hurray, the young generation is suddenly walking a lot. They are outside chasing their stars. So will this one game radically change habits of many people on earth! How long will the effect last? Could one hope that this new habit will help reduce the number of people, particularly children, getting Type II diabetes in the world each year? If so, how much impact will this have on the Health Care bill? And this opens the question: how does the brain respond to the search for Pokemons...how neurones are affected when none are found?? Will school teachers put the search for Pokemons on their list of "Things to do" next summer? ..........:))

A Pokemon hot spot!

The Turku castle is a medieval building that went through many renovations since it was built. It has a nice courtyard and is worth to visit.
