On Day 5, we went to Salar de Tara (Tara salt flats) located in the Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos. It sits on the crater of the long exploded volcano Vilama and is surrounded by other volcanoes. We drove to an altitude of 4,800 meters. The geology of this large site is quite interesting with different types of rock formations. Check it out!
Inca toilet only!
Ouch! A cut with this sharp stone used to make jewelry
Geyser El Tatio
These geysers are not as spectacular as those in Yellow Stone but definitively worth the trip.
On our way back
