Estonia: Lareema National Park - Viniistu village along the Baltic Sea

Estonia is great and low key. Lots of forests, not much agriculture from what we saw while driving around.....although now we know that a lot is happening in green houses, which we did not see as easily while driving as fields of wheat. As I mentioned in my previous post, food is excellent here, definitively an upgrade from Scandinavian countries.

We left Tallinn with a rental car. Monique was the driver, Glenn the navigator and I was resting in the back. On our way to Viinistu in Lareema National Park, directly East of Tallinn.

Many, many trees along the way!

We arrived in Viinistu where our lodging was. Nice little hotel along the Baltic Sea

Viniistu probably has no more than 100 inhabitants. There was a very small museum next door to the hotel. We were quite amused by the exhibit outside....."100 suitcases" which in french would be translated as "Cent valises".... same pronunciation but different from "Sans valises" :))

Viinistu is a beautiful little village.

Estonia: Stork and wild mushroom SPECIAL!

I cannot explain how excited I felt when I saw the first two storks, in a nest on top of an electrical utility pole. They had a gigantic nest, impressively built.

We saw a few more afterwards in the same area.

Aren't these nests gigantic?!
Then after this amazing spotting, we went for a hike in a forest nearby. The second surprise was wild mushrooms. So beautiful, different colors, so many species and everywhere!

And if you are interested in knowing more about Estonian wild mushrooms....

And we kept seeing some storks, not many but some. My sister did not want to stop the car for me to take pictures after Stork #4. Alors j'ai dit: "Ah non, on s'arrete" with my most intimidating voice. Now see what YOU would have missed if I had not fussed about it :))

Darn, missed it! Never give up....try again :))

Ah Ah! Got this one......using my sister and Glenn as "scarecrows".

Now a little diversion to make sure that no one gets bored

Back to my favorites...

 Same strategy as before :))
